McKamey Animal Center | Chattanooga Everything Photographer :)

I don't know if many of you have seen my Facebook page and have followed the saga of our rescue dog, Lucky...  If you have, you know of my love/hate relationship with him.  You probably also know that he's as much a member of our family as any of my children.

I love me some fur babies.

So you should not be surprised to learn that I recently worked with our local rescue center for pets, McKamey Animal Center, to capture some adorable, heart-string-tugging, feel-good images of folks who are happy with their new lovies.

Seriously these photos are adorable.

Seriously I almost came home with like, 15 dogs and a few cats.

Seriously, if you are looking for a pet, go to McKamey - there's a lotta love in that place just waiting for the right family to come along.

Seriously, I said "seriously" 5 times.  Maybe 6.  Who's counting?  To the cuteness!

Carpenters | Chattanooga Family Photogpraher

I, first of fall, have to admit to being VERY behind in my blogging. Like, a year. That's pitiful and I know it. Oy. I'm going to try to fix that. Promise.

Anyway, I had the absolute pleasure a month or so ago of working with this amazing family. Honestly - I had such a great time with them. They asked if they could bring their family dog along and she ended up being one of the best, most well-behaved pups I've ever seen! Then, the oldest girl floored me with her child-whispering abilities to the point where I'd hire her as a nanny if child-labor laws didn't exist. And then - (yes, there's more!) - the not-quite-2-year-old demonstrated the ability to count well past 20. Not regurgitate numbers in order - actually count. Guess who taught him? His child-whispering older sister. Amazing.

Wait, did I mention they're absolutely adorable also?

I'd hate them, honestly, if they weren't so likeable.

What an awesome family.  Dudes, I love my job.

I Heart Face: Furry Faces

I haven't been posting much; after finishing a busy season of photoshoots and order fulfillment, etc., I'm enjoying some time off with my family and coming up with some changes to my blog, business, and life for the upcoming new year.  I've been SO remiss, actually, that I thought about skipping this challenge, but for some reason, an image popped into my head.  An image I HAD to share with you all...

I recently did a session for a friend whose horse was in declining health with her son, N.  The boy and his horse were thick as thieves and the love between the huge animal and the tiny toddler was just breathtaking to behold... I captured this moment that just perfectly showed how trusting they both are with one another and I loved it from the second I saw it in my camera.

I can barely look at the images from that session; just days later, they had to send their beloved pony home to rest forever and I just cry because her passing is SUCH a huge loss to anyone who loves animals.  She was truly a part of their family and a gigantic part of N's life.

Entering this photo isn't about the "contest"... it's about sharing this moment... because I was so fortunate that they shared it with me.

I love my job.
