It's A....

BOY!!!!!

I ADORE this family - they are so, so sweet! I had goosebumps today waiting for them to arrive so I could capture the moment they revealed the gender of their 4th sweet baby to the big sisters. I knew the baby was healthy, so all I had to do was sit behind my lens and watch their faces light up at the idea of a baby brother.

Bliss.

I love this job!

I Heart Faces: By The Book

My kiddos are super close in age.  That means they fight.  Often.  It's the nature of the beast.  But, on occasion, they startle me with sweetness... Like when big brother decided to read his sequin-and-tutu-wearing twin sisters a book about his favorite subject: trains.  It's not a fairy-tale or a magical story of princess or ballet, but their delight in his attention is a moment of love so strong... so bright... How lucky am I to have captured it?

I love them.

Christmas Magic | Chattanooga Child Photographer

I got to do a session with a friend of mine with a Christmas theme.  I got to go to her home and use their beautiful tree and capture her beautiful children and their magical wonder.

(I am a total Christmas fanatic.  I spend the time from Thanksgiving to New Years being totally giddy and I occasionally squeal for absolutely no other reason than I saw something sparkly and glittery.  It is also the only time I sing out loud in front of people.  Because I think my voice sounds AWESOME when I sing Christmas carols.)

Anyway... *ahem*

These photos make me so excited for Christmas!  Gah!  2011 was our youngest baby's first Christmas, but this year she'll be nearly 2 and it will be so much fun with a 5 year old, two 3 year olds and a 1 year old!  Ah! I need to go find something sparkly!

I Heart Faces: Family Fun

I've found myself catering mostly to families recently and I. Love. It.  I have a huge family and I just eat up the crazy that sometimes comes along with a family... it just makes me smile so much.

As such, I had the hardest time figuring out which photo to share this week... Until I remembered that I've already had  help with this!  Here is the photo that received the most votes in the contest I held to find the fan favorite from 2011!

Lee Family | Chattanooga Family Photographer

This was one of the sessions from November's mini-sessions.  I just LOVE how they turned out - I am crazy about the family, but besides that, the location is so much fun!  The family's outfits are just so perfectly styled, I'm excited for you to see these images to give you all some inspiration for some of your upcoming sessions - with me or not! - because it can be as simple as a sweater for a baby and a cute pair of shoes from T@rget!

See how well everyone coordinates? Love it!  And red/grey/black is so great for any season! I know that the majority of the key pieces in this case are from T@rget! (Who doesn't love Targ?)

Also, sometimes posing a family with small kiddos can be a challenge, but they all worked really well together and, like I said, this location is fabulous because there are stairs and a bench which help to anchor a shot and keeps those active toddler feet off the ground for long enough to get some beautiful portraits!

I also have to confess, I loved J's red sweater so much, I went out and snagged one for my own baby girl...

Too cute, huh?  (And an aside: I'm pretty sure my 9 month old is wearing the same size as the 2-year-old J!)

Anyway, I also want to mention that I love how mini-sessions produce the same quality of portraits with the same attention to detail and professionalism as a full session.  The mini's are a GREAT way to get some awesome images on a budget and I'm planning to offer them a few times a year.  Keep an eye out for some possible spring dates!

Williams Family | Chattanooga Family Photographer

I have been SO busy - from October of 2011 until now, I've been racing at break-neck speed through life - kids, photoshoots, Holidays, family, volunteer commitments... It's insane!  I am SO far behind in blogging sessions and I am SO sorry because there have been so many incredible faces in front of my lens since the last time I updated!

This session was from November - such an adorable family!  This little girl was just a spunky, fun, sweet kiddo - I cannot tell you how much fun I had playing with her...

Now, the winter landscape doesn't always make for the most stunning backdrop, but the setting sun coming through the bare tree trunks and branches warmed everything up and brought out her steel-blue eyes and made for a fabulous glow that I just couldn't get enough of!

(Also, I love her sweater dress.  I'll take one in big-person size, thanks.)

This family was a blast... Their images just make me smile...

Aw!  Let's hear it for the Williams'!
